The device has a transport drum (2) provided with a sheet holding system (8). A sheet (13) accelerated by a gripping drum (1) is transferred from the holding system to a transfer point. The sheet is delivered to gripping systems (9, 10) of a printing cylinder (3) at a preset printing cylinder circumferential speed, after transferring of the sheet through the drum in another transfer point. The drum (2) rotates till reaching the former point at a transport drum circumferential speed, which is larger than the printing cylinder circumferential speed, after passing through the latter point.
