The column has a casting part (10) which possesses the shape of an open profile, and comprising a back part and two side pieces. A reinforcement piece (11) i.e. extrusion part, is inserted into a sub-area of an inner area (12) of the profile-shaped casting part, where the reinforcement piece possesses the shape of a hollow section. The reinforcement piece has cavities which are separate in sections from each other by a bar. The casting part and the reinforcement piece are connected with one another and are made of light metal such as aluminum.
