The component (20) has a reinforcement piece (26) arranged between a vehicle-outer-side skin part (22) and an inner part (24) of a vehicle interior, where the inner part is designed as a closed hollow section. The reinforcement piece and the inner part are mutually bonded with each other over entire length of the reinforcement piece by adhesive surfaces (28). The inner part comprises a polygonal cross-section with appropriate number of partial outer surfaces, where a set of partial outer surfaces of the reinforcement piece is embraced and adhered to the surfaces of the polygonal section.
