The device has a compressor (1) and a catalyzer (3) for cleaning compressed air produced by the compressor. The catalyzer is arranged in such a manner that the catalyzer is heated by waste heat of a heat source e.g. internal-combustion engine (4), present in a vehicle, where the heat source drives the vehicle. The catalyzer is arranged around an exit gas line (5) of the heat source. An integrated latent heat storage serves as a heat buffer for storing heat. The catalyzer exhibits two half parts around the exit gas line.
