The drive has a stator and a rotor with a rotation axis (16), which is directly connected with a shaft (14) of a roller (11), where the drive is designed as an electric motor (15) e.g. direct drive. The roller guides a conveyor belt, and is extended to a part over the length of the shaft, where the drive transfers rotating motion from the shaft to the roller, and is surrounded by a hermatically closed housing. A housing of the drive comprises a corrugated outer surface, where control electronics of the drive is provided into or on the housing.
