The drive unit has a differential drive (UG) i.e. planetary gear, whose sun wheel (UGE1) is indirectly driven by a rotor assembly (R) through a stepless gear box (US) i.e. hydrostatic transmission, of a axial piston combustion engine (A). A ring gear (UGE2) of the differential drive is directly driven by the rotor assembly. A planet carrier (UGA) of the differential drive is coaxially connected with a driven shaft (WA) along a rotational axis (D) of the rotor assembly. The differential drive is arranged within dimensions of the engine.
