The method involves heating and drying plastic granulates by an air stream, and utilizing partial air streams for heating and drying the plastic granulates, where one of the partial air streams is larger than another partial air stream. The partial air streams are adjusted from each other in a separate manner, where the former partial air stream is circulated. The former partial air stream is produced by an air stream amplifier i.e. venturi pipe (6), which is driven by the latter partial air stream. Pressurized air is used for drying the latter partial air stream. An independent claim is also included for a device for drying plastic granulates.
