The system has a detection unit (50) comprising two groups of sensors e.g. infra-red sensors or charge coupled devices, which are arranged at an air outlet of a hand dryer (10). The sensors are electrically connected with a control circuit (60). The control circuit activates and stops a heating device (20) and a fan motor (30), and controls temperature of the heating device and rotation speed of the fan motor. The control circuit comprises a comparison and logic processor (61), and the sensors are connected with the processor to process a signal.
