The method involves monitoring position of a telematic unit integrated device (V) in space, and/or acceleration of the device, using a sensor unit (S) e.g. shock sensor, of the device. A telematic unit (T) of the device is activated by the sensor unit. The position of the device is identified as an operating position. The acceleration of the device is identified as an activation accelerating process. Direction of the acceleration of the device corresponds to direction of activation acceleration. Value of the acceleration of the device exceeds an activation threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a telematic unit integrated device comprising a sensor unit.
