The cover (10) has a tarpaulin (12) with an upper side (14) exposed to an environment and a lower side (16) turned away from the upper side. An inflatable distance piece (20) is connected with the lower side and is provided for arranging the tarpaulin at a motor vehicle (18) in a spaced manner. Bearing lugs for bearing to the vehicle are connected with the piece. The piece is indirectly connected with the motor vehicle over one of the lug. The lugs extend in a longitudinal direction and/or in driving direction of the vehicle. The lugs are manufactured from flexible, rubber-like material.
