Device comprises: a bioreactor; an absorption stage (1), which is configured to be traversed by a gas to be desulfurized for desulfurization using microorganisms introduced in the bioreactor; a regeneration stage (2), which is configured to be traversed by oxygen for microorganisms providing gas; and a separating device, which allows a liquid exchange for a working fluid used in the bioreactor in at least one exchange direction, between the absorption stage and the regeneration stage, and prevents the gas exchange. An independent claim is included for a method for microbiological desulfurization of gas, preferably a biogas, in a bioreactor, comprising conducting the gas to the absorption stage, conducting a gas providing oxygen for the microorganisms to the regeneration stage, and separating the absorption stage and the regeneration stage by a separation device.
