The device (1) has a drive cone arranged in a region within a blade (12) of a honing tool (4), and another drive cone arranged in an edge region of the blade. An actuator (27) e.g. electric motor, acts on a conical body over a machine tool (2) and axially moves the conical body. The machine tool is designed as a standard processing machine with a tool holder (3) that comprises a standardized interior cone (26) and a spindle (8) driving the honing tool at rotary movements. The honing tool includes a standardized retaining cone (11) for accommodating within the standardized interior cone.
