The battery has set of individual cells (1) that are connected with each other in a series and/or parallel manner, where the individual cells are formed as flat cells. A cooling plate is arranged at the individual cells at a pole side. Conductor rims (A1, A2) are thermally coupled at the cooling plate by poles of the individual cells. The conductor rims are bent in such a manner that the conductor rims are arranged parallel to the cooling plate in a form-fit and/or force-fit manner. The cells are arranged parallel to each other in retaining frames which are made of plastic.
