The method involves connecting a low potential connection (11) to a low potential busbar (5) of a direct current (DC) voltage intermediate circuit (3). A set of semiconductor switches (14a-14c, 16a-16c) e.g. junction FET, having parallely connected free-wheeling diodes (15a-15c, 17a-17c) is provided between a set of line terminals (13a-13c) and a high potential connection (10) and between the line terminals and the low potential connection. The semiconductor switches are controlled when a charge current flows through the free-wheeling diodes after net interruption. An independent claim is also included for a network-sided pulse power converter for a converter circuit.
