The method involves setting a pulse pattern to an electric motor (12) i.e. three-phase permanent magnet motor, for producing flow of current, which is higher than rated current of the electric motor. The pulse pattern is cut through a bonding connection, where the pulse pattern comprises demagnetization of magnets of the electric motor. The pulse pattern is selected such that the current is chosen, so that a torque-forming current component is zero. An output stage (10) is provided in a power steering of a motor car for actuating the electric motor.
