The method involves modifying a preset threshold range such that regrouping of thresholds of the threshold range is taken place based on frequency calculation under inclusion of a threshold maximum and/or threshold minimum of the threshold range and a modified threshold range is generated based on the regrouping. The preset threshold range is provided based on a preset threshold table that contains thresholds comprising associated coordinates. The threshold maximum in the threshold table is selected. An independent claim is also included for an optimized threshold range for frequency- and/or amplitude modulated screening.
