The device has a driver (2) driven by a drive apparatus and movable along a guide rail. An adjusting part i.e. window pane, is fastened to the driver by a fastening element (31), where the adjusting part is not connected to the driver in a non-mounted state. The fastening element is held at the driver by a retaining element (32) in the non-mounted state of the adjusting part. The fastening element is designed as a screw, and the retaining element is designed as a securing device. The device is arranged at a carrier plate of a vehicle door.
