The coil has coil chambers (15) formed in a coil body (8) for receiving primary and secondary windings (4, 9), where the body consists of polyphenylene ether. The chambers have a length (I) measured in a longitudinal direction of the body and chamber walls (16) with a wall thickness (S). The wall thickness of the chamber walls lies between 0.4 mm and 1.5 mm, and the length of the chambers lies between 3.6 mm and 18 mm. The chamber walls laterally separate the chambers, where the ratio of the length of the chambers to the wall thickness of the chamber walls lies in a range between 9 and 12.
