The electrode arrangement has a measuring electrode (104) for interaction with a counter electrode (105), and a unit (102) i.e. heating unit, for preventing contamination in the form of ice, snow, mud or water. The preventing unit comprises a hydrophobic substance, and the heating unit with a heating wire that is wound around the measuring electrode. The heating unit causes heat generation for energization of the measuring electrode. The heating unit heats a covering of the measuring electrode, where the hydrophobic substance is arranged on the covering. An independent claim is also included for a method for capacitive measurement of a distance between an object and a measuring electrode in a vehicle.
