The particle sensor (11) comprises two electrode systems with a primary electrode (12a,12b) and a secondary electrode (13a,13b), and a ceramic base body (14,19,21,29). The ceramic base body has two gas inlet channels (GE1,GE2) and two gas outlet channels (GA1,GA2), where the gas inlet channel is opened out into the gas outlet channel. The electrode system is arranged in each gas outlet channel. The primary and secondary electrodes of the electrode system are arranged at the opposite sides of the gas outlet channel. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for operating a particle sensor; and (2) a method for manufacturing a particle sensor.
