The plate (10) has a delimitation area (16) partially surrounding a reaction chamber (15). A sealing element (25) arranged in the area seals the plate within a fuel cell i.e. solid oxide fuel cell, in an assembled condition. The reaction chamber includes a guiding channel (20) for guiding a reactant (80) for an electro-chemical reaction. The delimitation area includes a cooling channel (30) retaining a part (81) of the reactant. The cooling channel is arranged adjacent to the sealing element such that the part of the reactant flowing through the cooling channel cools the sealing element.
