The device (10) has a transmission device (10.1) including a transmitting lens (14) for extracting radiation out of the transmission device, where the radiation is produced by a laser diode (11). A receiving device (10.2) includes a receiving lens (16) for injecting reflected and/or scattered radiation of the laser diode into the receiving device. A deflecting mirror (13) deflects control radiations, which occur at the lenses, to a photodiode (17) in the receiving device. Mirrors e.g. micro electro mechanical system-mirrors, are arranged at the respective transmission and receiving devices. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing an optical device.
