According to the invention, a cryosurgical device with a temperature controller is to be provided. When using cryosurgical instruments, it is desirable to set the temperature applied to the cryosurgical instrument as accurately as possible for better therapeutic success. Conventional devices for this purpose have corresponding temperature sensors, which allow a controller to regulate the cooling power in the cryosurgical instrument so that it corresponds to a predetermined value. However, the provision of a temperature sensor within a cryoprobe may not be possible due to its size. Furthermore, suitable temperature sensors are expensive and have poor durability. The present application solves this problem by providing a temperature controller for controlling the temperature of a cryoprobe which supplies an at least partially liquid refrigerant having a first pressure to an evaporation region such that the refrigerant is at least under the presence of a second pressure to cool a cooling portion of the cryoprobe temporarily evaporated, wherein a pressure adjusting device is provided which adjusts at least the second pressure in the evaporation region for controlling the temperature of the cryoprobe.
