The device (6) has frames (7) arranged on a seat surface (2) of an office chair (1) between an arm rest (5) and another arm rest in a use position. A rectangular web mat (20) is arranged in an intermediate space of the frames on an end. A front edge of the mat is fastened to a short frame front tube. Side edges of the mat are fastened to the frames. The web mat upwardly extends along a backrest (3) above a short frame rear tube upto an upper edge (29) of the backrest in a curve shape on another end in the use position. The web mat is detachably fastened to the upper edge.
