Aluminum alloy comprises silicon (6.5-11.7 wt.%), manganese (0.4-1 wt.%), magnesium (0.05-0.5 wt.%), copper (0.01-0.5 wt.%), iron (0.05-0.31 wt.%), and aluminum (greater than 0.05 wt.%) and production related impurities (maximum 0.2 wt.%), as remaining components. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for producing cast components, preferably from the aluminum alloy, comprising subjecting the cast components after a casting process, to a solution heat treatment process and subsequently to separation process, where the separation is carried out in at least two stages, and the separation temperature of the first stage is less than the second stage; and (2) the cast components obtained by the above process.
