摘要

The method involves gas-tight sealing of cooling channels of a cylinder head or engine block, and guiding a forming gas i.e. helium, into the cooling channels, where a sealing pressure of the forming gas is selected dependent on a flow cross section. A determination is made whether the forming gas is found in a combustion chamber or the cylinder chamber using a sensor. An engine block sided discharge area of the cooling channel of the cylinder head or a cylinder head sided discharge area of the cooling channel of the engine block is sealed in a gas tight manner via a sealing plate.
