The tool (1) has chip spaces associated with respective cutting edges (15, 17) for receiving chips removed by the cutting edges and having respective chip guide elements (27, 29) that are associated with the cutting edges. The cutting edges together with the chip guide elements form respective receiving gaps (43, 45). Each gap passes into the respective chip space, where the removed chips are fed into the gaps. The chip guide elements have respective guide surfaces (39, 41) that together with a cutting face (21) form a receiving channel, where the receiving channel abuts the gaps.
