The method involves holding a test object i.e. vehicle, with fixing and lifting devices at a defined distance to a moving base for simulating a road surface in a base area. The test object is raised or lowered by the fixing and lifting devices between a position, during which the test object with its entire weight rises from the moving base, and another position that lifts in contrast to the raised position. Operating force acting on the test object is measured in each position. Wheels of the test object are driven by a wheel turning unit.
