The connector has an intermediate ring (10) and a plug (8), which is provided with outer circular keying profiles cooperating with complementary inner circular keying profiles. The inner circular keying profiles are associated to a circular shaped receiving opening (14) of a machine structure (16). The intermediate ring and the receiving opening are designed such that the intermediate ring is attached to the receiving opening in a form fit manner, where an inner periphery of the inner circular keying profiles is formed in the intermediate ring.
