The use of three specific aluminum (Al) alloys (I) - (III), containing manganese and one or more of copper, silicon, iron, magnesium, chromium, zinc, chromium and/or titanium, is claimed for the production of corrosion-resistant evaporators (1) or evaporator parts (specifically flat tubes (3, 4) in the case of (I) or connecting pipes (7, 8, 9) in the case of (II) or (III)). The use of three specific aluminum (Al) alloys (I) - (III) is claimed for the production of corrosion-resistant evaporators (1) or evaporator parts (specifically flat tubes (3, 4) in the case of (I) or connecting pipes (7, 8, 9) in the case of (II) or (III)). (I) contains (preferred values in brackets) 0-0.15 (0.05)% silicon (Si), 0-0.2 (0.17)% iron (Fe), 0.4-0.55 (0.42)% copper (Cu), 0.1-0.2 (0.16)% manganese (Mn), 0-0.03 (0.01)% magnesium (Mg), 0-0.05% chromium (Cr), 0-0.04% zinc (Zn), 0-0.03 (0.01)% titanium (Ti) and Al to 100%. (II) contains 0-0.1 (0.075)% Si, 0.05-0.15 (0.11)% Fe, 0-0.05 (0.03)% Cu, 0.3-0.7 (0.34)% Mn, 0-0.05 (0)% Mg, 0.05-0.1 (0.08)% Cr, 0-0.05% (0.05)% Zn, 0.1-0.2 (0.163)% Ti and Al to 100%. (III) contains 0.05-0.15 (0.08)% Si, 0.06-0.35 (0.2)% Fe, 0-0.1% Cu, 0.3-0.6 (0.33)% Mn, 0.02-0.2 (0.11)% Mg, 0-0.25% Cr, 0.05-0.3% (0.21)% Zn, 0-0.25 (0.01)% Ti and Al to 100%. Independent claims are included for: (1) the production of an evaporator using the alloys (I) - (III), by connecting all of the parts of the evaporator (specifically flat tubes (3, 4), fins, collectors (5, 6) and connecting pipes (7, 8, 9)) together in material-bonded manner by soldering; (2) an evaporator obtained by the process, in which the connecting pipes (7, 8, 9) have a hydraulic diameter of 5.5-7.5 (preferably 6.0-6.8) mm; and (3) a soldered evaporator for an automobile air conditioning plant (preferably operated using carbon dioxide as refrigerant) having parts through which refrigerant flows (e.g. flat tubes (3, 4), fins, collectors (5, 6) and connecting pipes (7, 8, 9)), in which the flat tubes (3, 4) are formed from (I) or the connecting pipes (7, 8, 9) are formed from (II) or (III).
