The method involves supplying a Zipper(RTM: Slide fastener) closure to a mechanical clamping device (3). The closure is transferred to a transport station during periodic reciprocating movement. The fastener is taken up by a negative pressure sucker (7) after cutting of fastener. A slide fastener section (9) is held with the sucker and transferred to a packing material (10) during cyclic sliding movement, and pressed to a sheet of the material by a heater (11). The section is sealed with a foil after positioning the section in an appropriate place of the material. An independent claim is also included for a device for fastening a slide fastener closure, comprising a guillotine cutter.
