The method involves raising and/or swiveling a loading platform (17) by two linear drives (20, 21) with an electrical motor. The electrical motor is operated as a generator during lowering and/or swiveling of the loading platform. The electrical energy produced by the electrical motor operated as generator is supplied to an electrical energy storage. The supply of electrical energy to the energy storage is regulated by a control unit. An additional brake attached to the linear drives and/or the electric motor is actuated by the control unit, if required. An independent claim is also included for a lift loading platform comprising two linear drives.
