The magazine has a seat for receiving a module (3) e.g. replaceable tool of a tool machine or replaceable scanning tool or measuring sensor of a coordinate measuring device (1). The seat has a holding device (5) for holding the module. The seat is designed such that a helical spring detaches and removes the module from a transfer machine or from the measuring device that holds the module, so that the module is transferred from the machine or the measuring device to the holding unit of the seat. Mechanical energy is stored in the spring when the spring is in a clamped condition. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring of a module from a machine or a device to a magazine.
