A permeable layer (55) is formed over the surface for the produced radiation. A transmission barrier (66) absorbs or reflects the produced radiation, and surrounds a central region (550) in the layer over an inner region of the surface. The barrier surrounds a region over the surface, in the form of a frame. The barrier extends about side regions of the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an optoelectronic component.
