The adjuster has a sheet cover (1), locking recess (3), and a metal structure exhibiting an approximately centric residual gap or a weld line in a bottom side of the metal structure. The gap or the weld line is closed in a thermally firmly-bonded manner. The sheet cover is hardened by thermal treatment, and a firm soldering wire is provided on an area of the sheet cover during hardening procedure. The adjuster is propelled by a synchronous belt drive. The sheet cover exhibits threaded holes (2) that are distributed over circumference. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a vane-type camshaft adjuster.
