The switch (1) has a driving mechanism (8) for opening and closing switch contacts (2, 3). A pressure detecting element (10) e.g. fabric tube, comprises an elastic wall that defines a pressure detecting area from a switching area (7) such that positive pressure acting as outer pressure on the element causes increase of pressure of internal pressure in the detecting area. A section of the wall, which adjoins the switching area, is formed such that mechanical strength of the section against external pressure is smaller than the mechanical strength of the section against internal pressure.
