The exhaust-gas turbocharger has a turbine and a compressor. The compressor has a compressor wheel (10) and an intake port having a predetermined intake air flow cross-section. A switchable device is provided in the intake port, which covers the predetermined surface of the intake air flow cross-section such that a segment of the cross-section surface of the compressor wheel is shielded by the feed air.
