The engine (1) has a turbocharger (2) and compressor stages (5, 6) driven by a turbine (3) of the turbocharger, where each compressor stage includes separate intake air openings (13, 14) for fresh air. The compressor stages supply group of cylinders (8, 9) with load air, where the cylinders are assigned to the compressor stages. One of the compressor stages is connected with an exit gas line of the engine for oxygen enrichment, and the other compressor stage supplies the cylinders with fresh air.
