The device comprises a fermenter (1) and a cogeneration unit having a heat exchanger, where the cogeneration unit and the fermenter are connected over a heating circuit. The exhaust air path of the cogeneration unit has an additional heat exchanger and the heating circuit contains a switching valve, which enables that a heating medium e.g. water is conducted either in a normal operation (heating operation) over the cogeneration unit or in a cooling operation over the heat exchanger in the exhaust air path of the cogeneration unit. The device comprises a fermenter (1) and a cogeneration unit having a heat exchanger, where the cogeneration unit and the fermenter are connected over a heating circuit.
