The procedure involves controlling a driving motor (2) in accordance with a control function during presetting of an initial value of the driving motor with a momentary correcting variable (ST). The driving motor is operated in a substitute operating mode by providing a correcting variable limiting value (STGrenz) to limit the momentary correcting variable, if the correcting variable exceeds a separately determined comparison correcting variable (VST), where the correcting variable limiting value is provided based on a function of a momentary rotational speed of the driving motor.
