The device (4.25) has two separate plates or foils including a cylindrical-lens-shaped surface structure on a light incidence side. A lens profile represents a ninety degrees-section from a plane-convex structure. The profile includes a beam prism-shaped surface structure on a light emission side. A curvature radius of the lens profile is identical to and larger than side lengths (4.18, 4.19) of the section. Structure supporting elements are made of transparent thermoplastic, duroplastic or elastomer materials. A transparent carrier is made of plastic or glass. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a light deflecting device.
