The holder (100) has a holder part (101) into which a gas-discharge lamp i.e. xenon gas-discharge lamp, is inserted. Another holder part (102) is designed for accommodation of control electronics for providing an ignition voltage and/or an operating voltage for the lamp. A heat insulation element (103) is arranged between the holder parts and designed to prevent heating of the control electronics by heat and/or radiation, which are delivered by the lamp during the operation of the lamp. The heat insulation element connects the holder parts with one another.
