Producing a semi-finished product, comprises: (a) providing a material of a shape memory alloy in powder form, and (b) pressurizing the material to shear stress for the production of material in the martensitic phase as semi-finished product, which exhibits an increased transition temperature for the transition in an austenitic phase. Independent claims are included for: (1) producing a component with small dimensions, comprising (c) providing the semi-finished product, and (d) compacting the semi-finished product in the martensitic phase to the component with small dimensions; and (2) producing a coating of a body, comprising the step (c) as above per se, and (e) compacting the semi-finished product in the martensitic phase for the coating of the body.
