The phase adjusting device has a gear unit (11a), which has a drive element (12a) for adjusting the phasing, and has an operating actuator unit (13a), by which a speed of the transmission element is preset for adjusting the phasing. The gear unit and the operating actuator unit are partially executed in one piece. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a phasing of a shaft.
