Adaptive chassis for motor vehicle i.e. car, has control units connected to sensor for detecting roadway quality before front axle and controlling one of absorbers attached to front axle based on detected roadway quality
The chassis has absorbers (7, 7') controllably attached to a front axle (1) and a rear axle. Control units (5, 5') control the absorbers based on roadway characteristics. The control units are connected to a sensor (2) e.g. ultrasonic sensor, for detecting the roadway quality before the front axle. The control units control one of the absorbers (7) attached to the front axle based on the detected roadway quality. The sensor comprises a transmitter (3) for emitting a scanning signal toward the roadway and a receiver (4) for an echo of the signal, where the echo is reflected from the roadway.
