The exhaust gas cleaning system has an exhaust gas turbine (9) driven by an exhaust gas flow (7). A catalytic device (11) is provided for catalytic transferring of exhaust gas components, which are carried in the exhaust gas flow. The catalytic device is connected upstream to the exhaust gas turbine, and is passed from the exhaust gas flow. A retained particle is converted with a particle filter (17) by a nitrogen dioxide provided in the exhaust gas flow. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas cleaning system.
