The tool (1) has processing sections (6, 7) contacting with a work piece (2) i.e. steel plate, during processing of the work piece, and fastening sections (12, 13) by which the tool is fixed to a processing machine. A data unit is supported on a base body (21) of one of the fastening sections against processing forces (20, 24) by a damping element that is accommodated in the fastening section, where the forces occur during processing and act upon the data unit. The damping element and data unit are accommodated in an exchangeable container (16) that is accommodated in the base body. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a processing machine comprising a processing tool (2) a processing method for a work piece.
