The method involves allowing a flexible sterile container (2) i.e. sterilizable, flexible plastic bulk container, to be subjected to test gas i.e. helium, in an airtight test chamber (1), where test gas content in the test chamber is measured using a gas measuring device (4). The test gas is fed into the test chamber after completion of a density test, and a control measurement is carried out. The gas measuring device is provided with a circulation pump (8) and a test gas detector (9). Emptying ports (13-15) are provided at the test chamber for emptying the container. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing density of a flexible sterile container i.e. sterilizable, flexible plastic bulk container, comprising an apparatus for filling a sterile container with test gas.
