The method involves determining a conveying parameter to characterize delivery of fuel (100) through a fuel supply device (106) of an internal-combustion engine (104). A pressure parameter is determined to characterize fuel pressure produced by the fuel supply device. Alcohol content is calculated based on the conveying parameter and the pressure parameter. The fuel supply device is provided with a fuel conveying module (108) and/or a fuel high-pressure pump (110). A reference value of the alcohol content is determined based on emission values of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for determining alcohol content of fuel (2) a device for determining alcohol content of fuel for an internal-combustion engine.
