Reactivation of deactivated exhaust gas after-treatment catalyst exhibiting at least a catalytically active, honeycomb ceramic- and/or metal body by applying at least a catalytically active compound, comprises (a) partially or completely dipping the catalyst in a solution and/or suspension, where the solution and/or suspension comprises at least a noble metal, noble metal compound, further transition metal, further transition metal compound, lanthanide metal, lanthanide compound and/or a main group metal and/or main group metal compound comprising tin, gallium, germanium and/or silicon. Reactivation of deactivated exhaust gas after-treatment catalyst exhibiting at least one catalytically active, honeycomb ceramic- and/or metal body by applying at least a catalytically active compound, comprises (a) partially or completely dipping the catalyst in at least a solution and/or suspension, where the solution and/or suspension comprises at least one noble metal, at least a noble metal compound, at least one further transition metal, at least one further transition metal compound, at least a lanthanide metal, at least a lanthanide compound, at least a main group metal comprising tin, gallium, germanium and/or silicon, and/or at least a main group metal compound comprising tin, gallium, germanium and/or silicon.
